DODO was founded in the French town of Saint Avold by Mr & Mrs Ernst Hanau. The company specialises in the manufacture of quilted blankets, comforters, and eiderdowns (the predecessor of the duvet).
1948
DODO employs 17 workers.
1970
Given the success of the duvet, DODO’s first duvets hit French supermarkets under the management of Mr. Jacques Hanau.
1980
DODO invests in ultra-modern machines and acquires the first industrial multi-needle seamers.
1985
Extension of the Saint-Avold production site (30,000 m² added between 1985 and 1992).
1993
DODO® becomes the first duvet brand to advertise on television.
2000
DODO officially becomes DODO SAS and is headed up by Marc Cerf and Didier Hannaux.
According to a B.V.A. study, DODO® is the most well-known, renowned, and popular duvet brand.

2004
The first acquisitions come with the takeover of the TOPIOL brand and the DROUAULT company - specialists in high-end down and duvets. DROUAULT, originating from Le Mans, is one of the oldest companies that is still in business today. Founded in 1850 in Le Mans by a Mr. Courboulay, it was the first industrial factory to collect and process feathers and down. DROUAULT is working towards excellence, and its feathers and down are widely available for purchase.
The brand is pursuing diversification into high-end products as well as vertical integration thanks to mastery of the raw material.

Acquisition of TEXTILES LASSON - A workshop manufacturing top-of-the-range bed linen and bedding protection in Fontaine au Pire.

The first DODO Outlet opens in Talange

Acquisition of CTM Style: the French leader in sleepwear founded in 1984 offering a range of pyjamas, nightgowns, and nightdresses.

The group buys a duvet production unit in the Vosges region.
DODO acquires ANNE DE SOLENE, designer of premium household linen founded in 1906 and saves over 90 jobs.

DROUAULT obtains the LHC certification from economy minister Bruno Lemaire. It's thanks to the brand's artisanal know-how and industrial excellence, its guaranteed quality and French-made products, its feather and down experts, and its seamstresses, that Drouault received this outstanding award from the Living Heritage Company label.
2021
Acquisition of the ACF group and most notably its Poyet Motte companies, founded in 1839, including Toison d'or, Lamy, Bastié, and Cédoo. A traditional weaving and production plant is incorporated. This acquisition reinforces the household linen and decoration segments. New sectors emerge, including children’s items, professional clothing, and services to hotels and local authorities.
